Vancouver Photo Workshops proudly presents this unique all- inclusive photo tour "Focus on Newfoundland".

Join internationally acclaimed photographer Arthur Meyerson and award-winning fine-art photographer Marc Koegel for a unique and unforgettable journey to 'The Rock', (Newfoundland, Canada) the most easterly edge of North America.

This is where the sun rises first. Where Vikings landed over 1,000 years ago. This place is home to the oldest settlement and the oldest city in North America, but is the youngest province of Canada.

A vast land, with a relatively small population, Newfoundland has some of the friendliest people you'll ever meet. Here, you can immerse yourself in wilderness solitude one day and embrace a vibrant culture at the cutting edge of the contemporary western world the next. This is a land of rich history and natural wonders: stunning coastlines, icebergs, and some of the most incredible skyscapes you'll ever see.

It's a vast visual playground for photographers - A perfect location for a Photo Tour!

Our Photo Tour begins (and finishes) in St. John's, the oldest and most easterly city in North America, rich in history and culture, with winding, colorful streets full of shops, pubs, galleries and restaurants. We explore the many photographic opportunities, including a side-trip to Cape Spear Lighthouse National Historic Site.

Leaving St. John's, we travel the famous Irish Loop with several stops including a historic lighthouse near Ferryland as well as Cape Race. Cape St. Mary's Ecological Reserve offers some incredible views of the ocean, and provides opportunities to photograph seabirds up close.

Along the Baccalieu Trail, we visit picturesque outport communities like Brigus (see image below), before heading towards our final destination of Twillingate, a beautiful outport town boasting unrivalled iceberg and whale sightings.

Twillingate is one of the most picturesque communities in Newfoundland, and located alongside Iceberg Alley, a vast corridor of ocean that runs from Greenland. One of the the highlights of this trip will be a tour by privately chartered vessel to go out and photograph Iceberg's up close, but we'll also use the opportunity to photograph from Long Point Lighthouse, which looks out over the distant reaches of Notre Dame Bay.

On our way Back to St. John's, we pass by the quaint town of Bonavista, the historic site of John Cabot’s first landing. Back in St. John's, we finish off with a group dinner on Friday evening, before everyone is heading back home on Saturday morning.
