8:30 AM - 9:00 AM: Doors open
9:00 AM - 9:30 AM: Session 1 – Making Sense of the Market
Every industry, niche, or genre of photographic work is in flux right as the barrier to entry continues to fall (increased competition) and professional talent is more accessible and affordable than ever. This initial session will introduce the key concepts of a healthy, long-game marketing approach in light of current market activity, as well as some preliminary discussion regarding industry trends drawn from Corwin's agency work.
9:30 AM - 10:30 AM: Session 1 – Establishing Your Marketing Make-up
Every photographer has their own unique value proposition—it's why clients come to you (and it's especially why they come back)—but, that distinctness is lost when ones' marketing looks and smells like everyone else's. After some serious naval gazing regarding your previous marketing challenges, we'll dive into what's going to work for you moving forward. This session will outline how to define your unique marketing approach and how to choose which sales drivers and promotional methods align with your brand, personality, photographic style, and types of offerings.
10:30 AM - 11:00 AM: Break
11:00 AM - 12:30 PM: Session 2 - Attracting Your Target Audience
It's useless to try and stand out in the crowd of "everyone is a photographer"—your marketing efforts need to be laser-focused on specific types of buyers in order to create the kind of opportunities that produce the sales you need. This session will take photographers step-by-step through the actions necessary to grow, attract, and manage their professional network and ultimately leverage their marketing methods without having to 'push' their talent on so-called prospects.
12:30 PM - 1:30 PM: Lunch
1:30 PM - 3:00 PM: Session 3 — Developing Your Marketing Toolkit (Hands-on)
There are a millions ways to promote a photography business but you can only employ a select few tactics and tools in order to get the job done effectively, on-brand, and with your creative spirit in tact. This hands-on, working session will guide a photographer through the process of developing a holistic marketing strategy by creating a vision-driven approach to each method. Some individual work and small group discussion will take place.
3:00 PM - 4:30 PM: Session 4 – Creating Your Marketing Calendar (Hands-on)
So much time and money can be wasted on promotional actives which produce little-to-no new business. This practical session will help you create a manageable and repeatable 3-month marketing calendar that you can use immediately to help you attract clients. Some individual work and small group discussion will take place.
4:30 PM - 4:45 PM: Session 5 – Your Next Steps
That’s a wrap but we won’t send you off into the world without a frank discussion about your next steps and how to ensure you have the accountability and discipline in place to keep yourself on track (no matter what shiny new toy your favourite camera company releases next week).
Here are a few things to keep in mind:

WHAT PHOTOGRAPHERS ARE SAYING ABOUT CORWIN’S WORKSHOPS
Corwin's workshops are jam packed with useful insights. The idea of 'pull' rather than 'push' marketing and sales is big one that I'm not hearing anywhere else. Tons of info on cloud based systems and how to leverage your marketing efforts. I'd go again but I'd bring a rain coat because he fire-hosed me with so much great stuff! Sign up, you won't regret it. - Ian Bell
This was a very valuable experience for me. Corwin's presentation of the material was excellent - timing, spontaneity, graphics and humour! - all added to the professionalism of the day. I appreciated the small group size and the numerous chances to chat with the other photographers. - Sandy Bell
“Corwin’s affable manner and humour, combined with his expertise in working with creatives, makes his workshops really enjoyable. All the attendees were at different stages of development with their photography business, but Corwin present the material in a way that was applicable to everyone, and each person’s situation was treated equally. We were all “real” photographers, regardless of how much money we made.” – Liisa Hannus
“Starting a photography business is overwhelming. The workshop gave me clarity. It allowed me to organize the chaos in my head and transformed concerns into step by step actions. Meeting other like minded people and hearing about their story was also of high value. I really recommend the experience!” – Anita Bonnarens
“This was a fantastic session. I attended in the summer and that was awesome, too, but I found two days to be better in terms of breaking everything down and digesting the information and coming up with next steps. Thank you so much for a great experience all around–including lunch. Always very important ;)” – Darina Kopcok
“After years in the industry consistent learning remains an important part of my approach, and Corwin’s workshop offered me a critical look at needed changes as I continue. I plan to use what I learned in the workshop as a road map in moving forward in my career.” – Rob Shaer
This workshop is intended for photographers with some prior experience in RAW processing and workflow.
